This recipe was the inspiration behind our on-the-go hazelnut & raisin energy ball. A blend of roasted hazelnuts, dates, raisins and cacao, this is such a quick, easy and delicious snack. We love the addition of cinnamon and cardamom, which provide amazing spice.

  • 140g of roasted hazelnuts
  • 200g of dates
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 100g of raisins
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • 1½ tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan) and bake the hazelnuts for 10 minutes, then leave aside to cool.
  2. Pulse half the hazelnuts in a food processor until they are broken down, then pit the dates and add them to the food processor along with the cinnamon, cardamom, cacao and half the raisins. Blend until everything has mixed together and formed a nice sticky dough, then add in the remaining hazelnuts and raisins and pulse a few times to roughly chop them.
  3. Roll the mixture into 12 equal sized balls.
  4. Place the balls in the fridge for an hour to set, then store in an airtight container in the fridge.
