Brown rice is an absolute staple in my diet. I always have a batch on the go in my fridge as it tastes so awesome with absolutely everything, while also being an incredibly healthy addition to my diet. Brown rice syrup makes a great sweetener and brown rice pasta makes a great gluten free alternative and is far healthier than the white variety. I also use brown rice flour in baking.
While there are lots of different varieties of rice, the process that produces brown rice removes only the outermost layer of the rice kernel, which makes it the most nutritionally valuable type of rice – the milling of brown to white rice actually destroys nearly 80% of the vitamins, as well as removing all of the dietary fibre and essential fatty acids!
