At the end of last year one of my oldest friends set up my favourite foodie site in Borough Market, Wokit. I’ve eaten here way too many times and still love it so much – so had to tell you all about it! It’s a healthy take on fast food noodles basically, which is just a dream. You pick a base, I normally go for either courgetti, brown rice or buckwheat and sweet potato noodles. Then you pick your toppings, (think mushrooms, bean sprouts, aubergine, cabbage, broccoli, peppers etc), a freshly made sauce (I like tamari maple or miso coriander) and then you can also have added chilli and ginger, which I always do! All the veggies come straight from Borough Market, so it’s super fresh and you end up with a big bowl of comforting deliciousness.
Of course not everyone has to have courgetti with veggies and tofu – you can also have classic udon noodles with salmon or beef fried up with an egg, which is one of the reasons I go to Wokit so much. I love knowing that I can eat a delicious, healthy option but that I can take a friend who doesn’t want to be veggie or gluten free and we’ll both end up with a meal that we love! Borough Market is also foodie heaven, it’s one of my favourite places in London and if you haven’t been then I couldn’t recommend going more. There are so many awesome stalls selling wonderful food, great juice stands and the best veggie selection I’ve ever found! The weekends there are so busy so Friday is my favourite day there, but if you can’t ever get down there on a Friday then Saturday’s are still so much fun.
