Carrot, Orange, Kale, Lemon & Ginger Juice


You know sometimes you wake up in the morning and you just feel so tired and rundown, maybe a little hungover or flu like from the night before? This juice always helps me! The combination of lemon and ginger gives each sip an awesomely tangy kick, while the kale adds a nicely savoury touch that stops the carrot and orange from becoming overly sweet. Don’t worry it’s still delicious though as their sweetness is not totally destroyed by the tanginess or the veggies! I’m not a huge fan of pure veggie juice, it’s too bitter for me, especially first thing in the morning so I always keep a little fruit for sweetness.

Makes one large glass:

– 2 oranges

– 4 carrots

– 2 big handfuls of kale

– 1/2 a lemon

– a knob of ginger about an inch long

Optional: one cucumber

Start by slicing the oranges in half, then cut off their skin – both the orange and the inner white layers.

Then put everything through the juicer – you’ll get more goodness from the kale if you juice it at the same time as the oranges or carrots as they’re so juicy!

Sip and enjoy!
