Read MoreAs more of us become interested in improving our sense of wellbeing, more self-development techniques come to the forefront, one of which is the premise of ‘manifesting’.
The concept of manifesting is relatively simple, ultimately our thoughts drive our actions, and our actions shape our lives. Essentially, manifesting is delving deep into our true desires, clearly pinpointing the person we want to be and becoming clear on what we truly what in our lives - both emotionally and practically - and then doing the work to get to that point. Once you’ve realised that goal, manifesting works to helps us change our thoughts, so that they’re directed at achieving our true desires, which then shifts our actions and in time changes the trajectory of our lives. It’s an exercise in increasing self-belief and self-esteem, while creating a sense of limitless possibility. Instead of asking ‘what’s the worst that could happen’, we start wondering ‘what’s the best that could happen?’
It would be easy to see this as a passive practice, but it’s anything but. Instead, it’s about stripping back your negative self-beliefs, so that you can look at yourself and your life and get clear on exactly who you want to be and what you want, without ego, without fear, without a sense of not being enough or deserving of those goals. It’s as much about self-discipline as it is about pinpointing our desires. It’s a daily proactive practice of actively chasing dreams versus sitting around waiting for those dreams to happen.
To create that mindset, you must believe that you are worthy of the life you really want, and you have to actively remove the obstacles that have held you back so far: self-doubt, nerves, anxiety, imposter syndrome, fear.
1. Take some time, by yourself, to sit quietly with a pen and paper and write out exactly what you want in your life, it may be a goal or it may be a feeling. Perhaps it’s something in your career, or a deeper sense of peace and calm. Think about this goal, this sense of self, as existing within limitless possibility, without ego, without needing to prove yourself to anyone - who do you really want to be?
2. Now that you understand manifesting a little more and have a clearer sense of what you want from life, tune into our manifesting meditation and dive a little deeper on those goals.
3. Come back to that manifesting meditation every week, to continue your reminder and keep working towards the goals.
4. Every day, or as often as you can, do our short affirmation meditations. Some days that’ll feel easier than others, and that’s ok. Remember that nothing in life is linear.
