When things feel overwhelming, tuning to a quick breathing exercise can make the world of difference, quickly taking you out of a stress response and into your rest and digest state.
On a longer-term basis, we can support a greater sense of calm by providing our bodies with key nutrients that support the nervous system, especially B vitamins, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Getting a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit, veg, leafy greens, wholegrains, beans, legumes, nuts, and seeds is absolutely key here.
