Pear and Vanilla Smoothie

This is a no-banana smoothie, which I know is something lots of you have been asking for! It’s taken me a while to create a banana free smoothie that I love, but this one is such a winner and I think you’ll all love it too. The mix of almond milk, almond butter, pear, spinach and oats work really well – it’s so creamy that you really don’t miss the texture that banana normally gives and somehow it’s still nice and sweet. I love adding vanilla powder to add a rich flavour, but if you don’t have this don’t worry. A big glass of this is the best way to start your day,  it’s so energising and full of all the goodness you need to feel amazing. If you want something heartier you can add less almond milk, so that it’s thicker, and make a smoothie bowl which you can then top with lots of granola and berries!

1 pear

2/3 of a mug of almond milk (200ml)

a big handful of spinach

a handful of oats

1 tablespoon of almond butter

1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla powder


Slice the pear into pieces, discarding the core. Then place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy – you may need to put it onto it’s highest speed to fully blend the oats.
