Pear and Vanilla Smoothie

This is a no-banana smoothie, which I know is something lots of you have been asking for! It’s taken me a while to create a banana free smoothie that I love, but this one is such a winner and I think you’ll all love it too. The mix of almond milk, almond butter, pear, spinach and oats work really well – it’s so creamy that you really don’t miss the texture that banana normally gives and somehow it’s still nice and sweet. I love adding vanilla powder to add a rich flavour, but if you don’t have this don’t worry. A big glass of this is the best way to start your day, Β it’s so energising and full of all the goodness you need to feel amazing. If you want something heartier you can add less almond milk, so that it’s thicker, and make a smoothie bowl which you can then top with lots of granola and berries!

1 pear

2/3 of a mug of almond milk (200ml)

a big handful of spinach

a handful of oats

1 tablespoon of almond butter

1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla powder


Slice the pear into pieces, discarding the core. Then placeΒ all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy – you may need to put it onto it’s highest speed to fully blend the oats.
