Coconut Yoghurt Mask

As we get further into winter and closer to Christmas I find that most people, including me, really struggle with their skin. All the cold air, central heating, late nights and maybe for some people a little over indulgence with drink and sugar too means that our skin starts to look a little dull and dehydrated. So I thought to pick us all up and restore our healthy glows I’d share one of my favourite face masks with you today. I’ve been making this face mask a lot recently and have really noticed a difference in my skin as a result. It’s one of the most soothing masks ever – honestly it’s such a gift to¬†your skin! The feeling when you wash this off is divine, your whole face sings with happiness and it really gives it such a healthy happy glow. It’s so cleansing and the yoghurt also means that it feels very light and refreshing. Together the ingredients sooth your skin, remove dead cells, moisturise your face and fight off any blemishes to leave you at your most beautiful. I like washing the mask off with a handful of oats soaked in hot water so that I give my skin a little exfoliation too and then I finish by moisturising with a little coconut oil!

Makes 2 masks

– 1 heaped teaspoon of spirulina

– 1 teaspoon of chlorella

– 2 tablespoons of coconut yoghurt (or greek yoghurt if you prefer)

– 2 tablespoons of raw honey

– the juice of 1/2 a lemon

Simply place all the ingredients into a bowl and stir them together until they form a smooth mix, then rub the mask over your face. Leave the mask on for about an hour, during which time it should harden, before washing it off with warm water.
